About us
In Ontario, public libraries are created by municipal councils and managed by a board of directors in accordance with the Ontario Public Libraries Act.
Since 1965, the Hawkesbury Public Library offers a large collection of books to the local community, along with a wide variety of services and programs. It became an accredited establishment in Ontario in December 2013.
The Ontario Public Library Guidelines Monitoring and Accreditation Council subsequently determined that the Hawkesbury Public Library did an excellent job of meeting the criterias governing policies, planning, resources and services. The library received its official accreditation certificate in March.
