Computers & Internet

The library has 6 workstations available for public use. All have high-speed access to the Internet and offer word processing as well. Use is free although there is a fee for printing.

You can use a workstation by dropping by the library or you can reserve a time by calling 632-0106 ext. 2264. If other users are waiting, you will be limited to one hour of use.

At the Hawkesbury Public Library we are excited about our new Early Literacy Stations (ELS). ELS is a computer workstation loaded with more than 45 educational software titles for kids ages 2 - 10. ELS offers children a safe, standalone computer not connected to the internet that is age appropriate, engaging, and academically relevant for children.

Are you concerned about your kids and the Internet?
Media Awareness Network's web site resources offers tips to help you manage media at home, maximize the benefits of the Internet for your kids, and minimize the risks they can encounter online.

Public Internet access is made possible through a grant from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism through the Southern Ontario Library Service (SOLS). Computer equipment & software are funded partly by Industry Canada through the Community Access Program (CAP).
